Funeral services for Frank Gill Beard, 79, of 1216 W. 40th street, will be 
held at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Sunday, April 19, at 1:30 p.m. The Rev. W. 
Evans will officiate.


A native of Fayetteville, NC, Mr. Beard had lived in Norfolk for more than 
60 years. He was the son of the late John and Mrs. Mary Beard, and the 
husband of the late Mrs. Annis Beard.


He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church and the Eureka Lodge.


Surviving him are a daughter, Mrs. Mary Ward; four grandchildren, Mrs. 
Lygretta Sutton of St. Albans, NY; Dr. George W. Ward, Philadelphia PA; Mrs. 
Mary Barnes and James Ward, both of Norfolk; and six great grandchildren.


Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
