Norfolk - Charlie Beard of 732 E. Princess Anne road died in a hospital.

A native of Winston-Salem, NC, he was a son of Wiley and Mrs. Edith Beard and 
the husband of Mrs. Rose Beard.

He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church and an employee of Snow and King 
Contracting Co.

Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, William Beard, and a daughter, Miss 
Edith Beard, both of Norfolk;  two brothers, Eddie Beard of Winston-Salem and 
Wiley Beard of Raleigh;  and three sisters, Mrs. Sylvia Monroe, Mrs. Alline 
Parsons, and Mrs. Hattie Shelf of Winston-Salem.

Services were held in Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery 
with Graves Funeral Home in charge.
