Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Saturday, 12 Sep 1992 
Mary Edmonds Beard, 71, of the 300 block of Appian Way, retired co-owner of 
Plaza Hardware, died Sept. 10, 1992.
Mrs. Beard was born in Norfolk and was a charter member of Bow Creek 
Presbyterian Church. She was a former assistant registrar for the City of 
Virginia Beach and was a founder of Princess Anne Plaza Civic League.

Survivors include her husband, Charles Wingo Beard Jr.; two daughters, Sharon 
Elizabeth Beard and Mary Sharlene Beard, both of Virginia Beach; a son, 
Charles Wingo Beard III of Bayonet Point, FL; and a brother, John B. Edmonds 
Jr. of Portsmouth.

The graveside service will be conducted Sunday in Elmwood Cemetery , Norfolk, 
by the Rev. Robert Bradford Jr.
