The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Wednesday February 26, 1947


Mrs. Cassie M. Beasley, 81, of Brown Avenue, died Monday at 5:05 p.m. at a 
local hospital after a long illness.
A daughter of Nathan and Sarah Anne Simmons Walker and the widow of Samuel 
Beasley, she was a native of Poplar Branch, N.C. and lived here 60 years.  She 
was a member of McKendree Methodist Church and of Woman's Benefit Association 
No. 5.  She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ethel Porter, of Norfolk. The body 
was removed to the Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk.  Funeral services will 
be held today at 3:30 p.m. at the McKendree Methodist Church.  The body will 
lie in state for one hour before funeral services.  Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery.
