The deceased was born in Germany, but had been a resident of Norfolk for forty-five years, where for many years he conducted the baker business. The immediate cause of his death was from a paralytic stroke, with which he was stricken some ten days ago. He is survived by a widow and seven children: three sons and four daughters. The funeral will be held from his late residence Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. Father Edward J. Walsh, associate pastor of St. Mary's Catholic Church. *********************************************************************** The funeral of Joseph Beck, Sr., took place from the residence, in Charlotte Street, Sunday afternoon. The floral display was handsome. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery. The funeral was conducted by Rev. E.J. Walsh. The following were the pallbearers: Joel C. White, S.S. Land, Alex. O'Brien, M. Cashin, Sr., W.J. Dilworth, D. Laffler, L. Kelly and Henry Rose.
