Norfolk Ledger Dispatch January 27, 1941

Mrs. Isabelle Maria Beckert, 66, widow of Paul E. Beckert, and daughter of the 
late W.J. and Mrs. Margaret Meighan Coleman, a native of Philadelphia, Pa. and a 
resident of Norfolk for the last 43 years, died at 9:15 a.m. today at a local 
hospital.
She is survived by one daughter, Miss Rosalie Pickett, of Hamilton, N.J. The 
body was removed to the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, 
pending arrangements.

Mrs. Isabelle Maria Beckert.— Funeral services for Mrs. Beckert, widow of Paul 
E. Beckert, whose death occurred Monday, were held at 10 o'clock yesterday 
morning at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. J. O. Schmidhauser 
officiating. The Rev. F. V. Bambrick and the Rev. P. P. Brennan were in the 
sanctuary. In his address at the conclusion of the mass, Father Schmidhauser 
paid tribute to the Christian life and character of Mrs. Beckert. Mrs. F. R. 
McLaughlin and Mrs. R. P Smith sang "Panis Angelicus” with Mrs. C. R. Davis as 
organist. There was a large attendance and a number of floral offerings. The 
casket was covered with a double cluster of pink carnations, white gladioli and 
fern.
Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Services at the grave were conducted by 
Father Bambrick. Pallbearers were Dr. John Beattie, John Kelly, M. J Holland, 
John Klinchock, John Kilgour, Anthony De Silva, T. J. Duffy, Sr. and T. J. 
Duffy, Jr.
