Virginian-Pilot January 31, 1941
Mrs. Isabelle Maria Beckert.— Funeral services for Mrs. Beckert, widow of Paul E.
Beckert, whose death occurred Monday, were held at 10 o'clock yesterday morning at
Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. J. O. Schmidhauser officiating. The
Rev. F. V. Bambrick and the Rev. P. P. Brennan were in the sanctuary. In his address
at the conclusion of the mass, Father Schmidhauser paid tribute to the Christian
life and character of Mrs. Beckert. Mrs. F. R. McLaughlin and Mrs. R. P Smith sang
"Panis Angelicus” with Mrs. C. R. Davis as organist. There was a large attendance
and a number of floral offerings. The casket was covered with a double cluster of
pink carnations, white gladioli and fern.
Interment was in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Services at the grave were conducted by Father
Bambrick. Pallbearers were Dr. John Beattie, John Kelly, M. J Holland, John
Klinchock, John Kilgour, Anthony De Silva, T. J. Duffy, Sr. and T. J. Duffy, Jr.
