Beda, 76, of the 1300 block of Stephens Road, died March 7, 1999, in a local hospital. A native of St. John New Brunswick, Canada, Mrs. Beda resided in Virginia Beach since the early 1960s. She was the widow of Stephen W. Beda, and was a former library director for the City of Virginia Beach. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Virginia Beach and was a member of The Friends of the Library. Mrs. Beda received her master's degree in library science from McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She was active in the Beach Suburban Republican Women and a former member of The Republican Party of Virginia Beach, City Committee. Survivors include a daughter, Kathy B. Price of Old Saybrook, Conn.; three grandchildren, Katie, Graham and Rachel Price; and two cousins, Alton Carswell of Norfolk and Agnes Wroton of Virginia Beach. A church service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at First Presbyterian Church of Virginia Beach by Dr. J. Scottie Griffin. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery . H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road Chapel, is handling arrangements.
