Death of A Well-Known Citizen
Mr. Charles Beebe, a young Gentleman well known in this city, having carried on 
the book bindery business here for several years, died last evening at his 
residence on Church Street, after an illness of about a week, of erysipelas. He 
leaves a family to mourn his untimely death.

The Virginian this morning regrets to announce the death of Mr. Henry C. Beebe, 
a gentleman well known in Norfolk, which occurred at his late residence on 
Church Street Monday night, after a weeks’ illness of erysipelas. Mr. Beebe 
conducted the book-binding business in this city some years ago, and had many 
friend to mourn his loss. The funeral services will take place from his late 
residence this afternoon at 2:30 o’clock.

The funeral of the late Henry C. Beebe took place from his late residence on 
Church Street, near Queen, yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock. The services 
were conducted by Rev. Beverly D. Tucker, rector of St. Paul’s P.E. Church, and 
the pallbearers were Messrs. W. Thompson Baron, E. M. Bullock, Thomas Murry, 
T.F. Anders, Thomas Dalton, and T.B. Church. The remains were interred in 
Elmwood Cemetery, in the lot of the Old United Fire Company, to which 
organization he belonged in the days of volunteer department.
