The Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 12, 1943
Dempsey Cartwright Bell, aged 65, son of the late Dempsey C. and Mrs. Amelia 
Bamberger Bell, died at a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 5:50 
o'clock. Mr. Bell, a lifelong resident of Norfolk, resided at 834 Spotswood 
avenue at the time of his death. Surviving him are three brothers, Joseph B. 
Vincent P. and Raymond A. Bell, all of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. Frank X. 
Parker, Miss Margaret G. Bell and Mrs. Nancy Bell Jones, all of Norfolk, and 
a number of nieces and nephews. The body will be taken from the residence to 
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, of which Mr. Bell was a member for funeral 
services Thursday morning at 10 o'clock. Interment will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the residence tonight at 8:15 
o'clock.
