Virginian-Pilot December 13, 1904
Mr. Joseph Bell, employed for a number of years at the city cemetery, died Sunday 
morning at 4:45 o’clock, in the 53d year of his age. His funeral will be held from 
the residence of his brother, Capt. D. C. Bell, No. 368 Chapel street, at 3 
o’clock this afternoon.

Additional Comments:
There is a discrepancy between the date of death on his tombstone (9th) and that 
calculated from the obituary (11th).
