The Norfolk Virginian, January 07, 1897

The funeral services of Mrs. Martha Elizabeth Bell, whose death occurred 
Monday at her residence, 3 Cove Street, were conducted at the First Baptist 
Church at 11 o’clock yesterday morning, there was quite a large attendance of 
the friends and acquaintances of the deceased lady. The services which were 
conducted by Rev. E. B. Hatcher, were concluded at the grave in Elmwood. 
Following are the pall-bearers: B. T. Bockover, J.W. Beasley, J. Williamson, 
Robert Stevens. C. A Morris, C. W. Fentress, William Erxleben, and E. B. Reid.

listed as Martha E. widow of William T Bell
