Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark November 30, 1924
Joseph Palmer Bell, 73, died at the residence of his son, Joseph H. Bell, 319 
Marlboro avenue, Chesterfield Heights, yesterday morning at 6 o'clock.  He had 
been ill for five months.  Mr. Bell was the son of the late Isaac T. and Mrs. 
Nancy Palmer Bell.  He was a native of Camden County, N.C., but had been a 
resident of Norfolk for the past 50 years.  He was a retired lumberman.  
Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Mary Bell; two sons, Joseph H., of Norfolk and 
the Rev. C.C. Bell of Lynchburg; a daughter, Mrs. E.P. Ives, of Oceana, Princess 
Anne County; a sister, Mrs. Abner Duncan, of Norfolk and four grandchildren.  
Funeral services will be conducted at the residence of Joseph H. Bell tomorrow 
afternoon at 3:30 o'clock, the Rev. J.W. Gee, of McKendree Methodist Church, 
officiating.  Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
