 Jeanne Yates Bell, a Norfolk native and friend to many, died at the age of 
67on Friday, Nov. 7, 1997. 
She married Alexander Bell in 1954 and, with her husband, ran an insurance 
agency until her retirement several years ago. She was the daughter of the 
late Mike L. and Thelma H. Yates. 
Jeanne was a member of Old St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Norfolk, an alumni 
of Peace College, a member of the Junior League of Norfolk/Virginia Beach, and 
the Princess Anne Garden Club. 
Survivors include her husband, Alex; a daughter, Hunter Bell Pieklik and her 
husband, William, of Exeter, N.H.; a son, Alex H. Bell II and his wife, 
Andrea, of Virginia Beach; and two grandchildren, Alex and Maggie Bell. 
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in the Eastern Shore 
Chapel, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Fr. Andrew MacBeth. In lieu of flowers, 
memorial donations may be made to the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Alzheimer's 
Association, or to the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad. Cox Funeral Home 
is handling arrangements.
