                    Mrs. Harriette Bell Dies in 62d Year

Mrs. Harriette Nye Bell, 61, widow of Clarence O. Bell, Sr., died at a Norfolk 
hospital yesterday at 1 a.m. after an illness of one day. She has been in 
failing health for two years.
She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk, recently residing with her daughter, 
Mrs. E.L. Creech, Jr., 3011 Vendome Terrace.  She was a daughter of Stowell 
Tilton and Mrs. Evalyn Winslow Nye.
Mrs. Bell has been employed as a clerk at the Aviation Supply Depot, Naval Base, 
for nine years.
In addition to her daughter, she is survived by three sons, Clarence O. Bell, 
Jr., Kenneth D. Bell and Robert C. Bell, all of Norfolk and eight grandchildren.
She was a member of Ghent Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Cox Funeral Home tomorrow at 2 p.m. by 
the Rev. Dr. A.B. Clarke, pastor of Ghent Methodist Church.  Burial will be in 
the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
