He was a son of the late Joseph S. and Mary Fitchett Bell and his entire life was spent in this section. He was owner of the J.S. Bell, Jr., Company, wholesale meat dealers. Besides his widow, Mrs. Miriam Diggs Bell, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Bell; four sons, Clarence O., Marvin C., Joseph 3rd, and William D. Bell, and seven grandchildren, all of Norfolk. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence, 1102 Colonial avenue. The Rev. Howard I. Stewart, D.D., pastor of the First Baptist church, will officiate. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
