A native of Norfolk, he was a son of Smith and Mrs. Elizabeth Owens Belote. He was the widower of Mrs. Mary Old Belote. He was a member of Park Place Baptist Church, Woodmen of the World Camp 3, and Men's Progressive Bible Class. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. J. Clyde Holland of Norfolk; two sons, Maurice C. Belote of Norfolk and J. Carlton Belote of Lynnhaven, and two grandchildren. The body was taken to Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home, where a funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2:30 p.m. by the Rev. Gordon L. Keller of Park Place Baptist Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
