Virginian Pilot June 15, 1978

James Edward Bennett, 86, of 241 Tidewater Drive, Tidewater Park, the husband of 
Mrs. Janie B. Bennett, died Tuesday in Guardian Care Nursing Center, Suffolk.
He was a native of Fayetteville, N.C. and a World War I veteran. He was a former 
member of the United House of Prayer for All People.
Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Geraldine Reid of Los Angeles and Mrs. 
Annie Mae Newby of Norfolk; and two grandchildren.
 A funeral will be held Friday at 10:30 a.m. in Jones Funeral Home Chapel by the 
Rev. Henry Nixon Jr. Burial, with full military honors, will be in Calvary 
Cemetery.
