NORFOLK - Arleitha B. Bennett of 975 Wolcott Ave., the wife of Jackson J. 
Bennett and a native of Nansemond County, died Sunday in a hospital.

She was a retired, 23-year employee of Norfolk Naval Air Station. She retired in 
1966.

She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and its Sunday School, Ladies 
Auxiliary, Usher Board 2, missionary society, E.J. Stinson scholarship 
committee, Pastor's Aid Women Aglow and decorating committee. She also was a 
member of Shaar's Club Inc. and Titustown Senior Citizens.

Other survivors include a son, Clavin Clark of Pleasantville, NJ.; three 
sisters, Bettie Dickey, Florence Bennett and Mildred Stacy of Norfolk; five 
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 934 W. 
Little Creek Road, by the Rev. James H. Harris. Burial will be in Calvary 
Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
