The Norfolk Virginian Pilot May 27, 1937
Mrs. Celeste Lillian Bennett died at her residence, 629 Pennsylvania Avenue, 
Colonial Place, last night at 7 o'clock after a long illness.  She was a native 
and lifelong resident of Norfolk and daughter of Mrs. Mary L. Rosborough and 
the late C.M. Gardner.  In addition to her mother, she is survived by her 
husband, Russell Edwin Bennett; one daughter, Miss Celeste Olivia Edwards, of 
Norfolk, and one brother, A.W. Gardner, of New York City.
Funeral services will be conducted privately at the funeral home of E. Lee Cox 
& Bro., 631 Westover avenue, tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock.  The Rev. W.H.T. 
Squires, D.D., will officiate.
