Norfolk Virginian January 29, 1880
DIED
BENSON – On Wednesday morning at 3 o’clock, C. C. BENSON, 36 years of age.
Funeral will take place from the Cumberland Street Baptist Church at 3˝ p.m. 
TODAY, the 29th. Friends and acquaintances are invited to attend.


Additional Comments:
There is a discrepancy between the date of death listed on his tombstone (27th) 
and that calculated from the newspaper obituary (28th).
