NORFOLK - Branch Benson, of 221 W. 27th St., a native of Scranton, N.C., died 
Tuesday in a hospital.

He had retired as a truck driver for the Naval Supply Center after 32 years. He 
was a member and trustee of Faith Temple Church of God in Christ, where he 
served in the choir and on the deacon board.

Survivors include his wife, Pearlie Benson; two daughters, Annie Deadwyler and 
Clara Workman, both of Norfolk; three sons, Branch Benson Jr. of Chesapeake, 
Albert Lee Benson of Norfolk and Morgan Benson of New York City; a sister, 
Deppie Gibbs of Scranton, N.C.; a brother, carter Benson of Belhaven, N.C.; 18 
grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday in faith Temple Church of God in 
Christ by Elder James Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, with graves 
Funeral Home in charge.

The family will assemble at the residence.
