Berkeley, died unexpectedly at Memorial Hospital last night at 8:30 o’clock from a heart attack. The body will be taken to Norfolk for funeral services and burial tomorrow. Mrs. Berkeley had been a patient at the hospital for three weeks. A native of Norfolk, Mrs. Berkeley was born November 23, 1897, a daughter of the late William Taylor Ham and Lucy Goode Ham. She had lived in Danville for the past 11 years and was a member of the Episcopal church. She was married to Mr. Berkeley on October 5, 1939. In addition to her husband, the deceased is survived by three children from a previous marriage: Samuel D. Hathaway, Jr., of Blacksburg; William T. Hathaway, of the U.S. Marine Corps, and Gardner R. Hathaway, of the University of Virginia. A brother, Dr. W. T. Ham, Jr., of Richmond, also is left.
