VIRGINIA BEACH—George M. Berny, 46, of 305 29th St., the husband of Mrs. Claire 
Doumar Berny and son of the late Michael M. and Mrs. Mary M. Berny, died in a 
hospital Wednesday evening.

A native of Boston, he was manager of Kings Department Store on Virginia Beach 
Blvd. He was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Miss Claire Berny and Miss 
Adele Berny, of Virginia Beach; two sisters, Mrs. Alan Hamwey of La Mirada, 
Calif., and Miss Joyce Berny of Whittier, Calif, and a brother, Stephen Berny of 
Whittier.

The Rosary will be recited in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Laskin Road, tonight 
at 7:30.  A funeral service will be held in Star of the Sea Catholic Church
Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Norfolk.
