Berry died last night at 8 o'clock at his residence, 319 West Twenty- ninth street, in his fifty-first year, after a lingering illness. Besides a widow, he leaves the following children: Misses Gladys, Evelyn and Helen Berry and C. Harold Berry, of Norfolk and R. Ellis Berry, of Bethlehem, Pa.; three brothers, M.W. Berry, of Elizabeth City, N.C.; L.W. Berry, of Norfolk and Joseph Berry, of Portsmouth, one sister, Miss Lillian Berry, of Portsmouth. Notice of funeral will be made later. ***************************************************************** The funeral of Richard W. Berry took place yesterday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the residence, 319 West Twenty-ninth street and was conducted by Rev. R.A. Williams, D.D., of the Park Place Baptist Church. The funeral was largely attended and there were many beautiful floral offerings. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery, Berkley, the pallbearers being S.E. Coggin, R.L. Forrest, Ed Shannon, William Graham, H.Y. Levengood and John Sanderlin.
