Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, June 3, 1997 
Willie Edward Berry Sr., 84, of the 1000 block of Mapole Ave., died May 31, 1997.

Mr. Berry was a native of Bertie County, N.C., and a member of First Calvary
Baptist Church, where he served as trustee for over 49 years. He was also a
retired stevedore of ILA Local 1248, where he worked diligently for over 46 years.

Survivors include his beloved wife, Mary R. Berry; a sister, Cassie Berry Smith
of Detroit; two grandchildren, Rickey and Traci Berry; two great-grandsons; and
a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in First Calvary Baptist Church by
the Rev. Dr. J.L. White Sr. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Viewing will be
at Graves Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m.
