B4 Funeral services for Mrs. Ada Best,69, of 823 Marshall avenue, who died recently, were held at New Calvary Baptist Church. Elder Samuel A. Wilson, minister, officiated. Mrs. Best was in ill health a long time. She was a patient at Norfolk Community Hospital August 1. A native of Goldsboro, NC, Mrs. Best was the daughter of Jackson and Mrs. Della Taylor. She was the widow of James Best. She had lived in Norfolk 45 years, and was a member of New Cavalry. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge of funeral arrangements. Mrs. Best is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Sarah Bray and Miss Grace Best; one granddaughter, Mrs. Adelle B. Black; three great-grandsons, Robert J. Black III, Joseph M. Black and Ralph E. Black; two sisters, Mrs. Luberta Warren, Goldsboro, and Mrs. Hattie Platt, Baltimore, MD; four nephews, six nieces, several cousins and other relatives. Among those who came to Norfolk for the funeral were two nephews, the Rev. Paul Warren, Raleigh, NC and David Gregory, Goldsboro, NC; two nieces, Miss Repsie Warren, Philadelphia, and Mrs. Inez Whitley, Goldsboro; and two sisters, Mrs. Luberta Warren, Goldsboro and Mrs. Hattie Platt, Baltimore.
