Norfolk - Clara Bethea of 4716 Gosnold Ave. passed away in the presence of her
loving husband, William E. Bethea. A native of Norfolk, VA she was the daughter
of the late Alexander and Annie Barnes. Clara was educated in the Norfolk Public
School System. She completed a nursing program in New York City. Clara worked at
Pilgram Psychiatric Hospital until her retirement. Survivors include her loving
husband, William E. Bethea, daughters Yolanda Edmondson and Tracy Lasasso, a son
William Reavis and a brother Alexander Barnes, Jr. three sisters Ida M. Hatton,
Mary Sue Vick and Duck Vick; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren
and a host of relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m.
March 27, at Saint Joseph AME Church, 1540 Atlantic Avenue, Chesapeake, VA. A
viewing will held Tuesday at Graves Funeral Home from 1 to 8 p.m. Graves Funeral
Home is handling the arrangements.
