Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, July 31, 2001 
James Hall Biggs, 86, of the 2800 block of Beachmont Ave., died July 27, 2001,
at Sentara Nursing Facility.

Born in Rich Square, N.C., he was the son of the late Richard and Eva Wolfrey
Biggs. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, a lifelong member of the
NAACP and a musician for many years for many churches.

He is survived by two nieces, Sonia Wolfrey and Roberta Wolfrey; two nephews,
Raymond Wolfrey and Robert Wolfrey Jr., all of Norfolk; a cousin, Elizabeth
Carter of Norfolk; a longtime friend, McAllister Banks of Berkley; and a host of
other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be held at noon Thursday at Metropolitan Funeral Service, Granby
Street, by the Rev. Joseph Lassister. Burial in Calvary Cemetery
