Billups, wife of Capt. Frank S. Billups, who passed away at her home, No. 229 Willoughby avenue, Brambleton, Saturday at 6:30 p.m. were held from McKendree M.E. Church Sunday afternoon at 5 o'clock in the presence of a large congregation of sorrowing friends and relatives. The services were conducted by her former pastor, Rev. W.H. Edwards, of Centenary Church, assisted by Rev. R.M. Chandler, of Chestnut Street Church, Berkeley. Rev. Edwards in his funeral discourse, paid an eloquent tribute to the pure Christian life of the deceased. saying that her death was "precious in the sight of the Lord." The floral tributes were beautiful and appropriate. The remains were laid to rest in Elmwood Cemetery. Following were the pall-bearers: Messrs. Alonzo Mercer, Ryland White, A.Jeffries, Julian Russell, Ava Tatem, A.C. Griswold, C.R. Parlette and Robert Waddy.
