Mrs. Mary Black, a native of Spring Lake NC, died at her residence Sept. 8.

Funeral services were held Sept. 14 in St. Marks RZUA Church.  The Rev. 
James Powell conducted.

Mrs. Black is survived by one daughter, Miss Annie L. Black, Norfolk;  one 
son, Joseph Black Jr, Norfolk;  two sisters, Mrs. Annie J. Monroe, Raleigh 
and Mrs. Laura McCary, New Castle PA;  one brother, Lonnie Monroe, Raleigh;  
one grandson, Joseph Black III, and seven nieces.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with the Riddick Funeral Service in charge.
