Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, October 28, 1990 
James E. Blackett Sr., of the 2200 block of Hanson Ave., a retired merchant
seaman, died Oct. 25, 1990, in a hospital.

Mr. Blackett, a native of Mobile, Ala., was a member of Huntersville Senior
Citizens, the National Maritime Union and the NAACP.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia W. Blackett; three sons, James E. Blackett
Jr. of Norfolk, John G. Blackett of Chesapeake and Gregory O. Blackett of Rocky
Mount, N.C.; three grandchildren; and three stepgrandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hale Funeral Home by the Rev.
Robert G. Murray. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
