Norfolk Journal and Guide, Jul 2,1960

James Davis Blackledge, 72, an elder in the denomination, will receive last 
rites on Thursday night, July 7, at the House of Prayer For All People on Church 
street.

Employed by the Soroko Brothers grocery firm, he was the son of the late Mr. and 
Mrs. Eddie Blackledge.

Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Hale Funeral Home.

Mr. Blackledge is survived by his wife, Mrs. Novella Blackledge;  three sons, 
James, Roosevelt and William Blackledge;  a daughter, Mrs. Clara Bell Mebane;  
and three brothers, Clint, Harry and Eddie Blackledge.
