VIRGINIA BEACH — Ruby Harrell Blair, 74, a native of Wilson, N.C., and the widow 
of Gordon E. Blair, died Tuesday in her home at 6313 Providence Road.

Mrs. Blair had retired as a nurse at the U.S. Public Health Hospital.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann B. Mayes of Virginia Beach; a son, Gordon E. 
Blair of Woodbridge; three sisters, Alice Norton and Daisy Ritter, both of 
Norfolk, and Virginia Walston of Virginia Beach; a brother, Howard Harrell of 
Oxford, N.C.; and a grandchild.

The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 
Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Thomas J. Quinlan. Burial will be in St. Mary’s 
Cemetery.

The family will be at her daughter’s home, 921 Timberlake Drive, Virginia Beach.
