The Virginian Pilot and Norfolk Landmark January 4, 1931
Alfred Dwight Blake died at his residence in Portsmouth yesterday afternoon at 
4 o'clock, after an illness of 10 days.  He was a machinist and had been 
employed in the Navy Yard for 20 years.  He was born in Norfolk and had been a 
resident of this section all of his life.  He was a member of Portsmouth Camp, 
Spanish War Veterans.  He was the son of the late Alfred B. and Mrs. Delia 
Swank Blake, and is survived by three sisters, Mrs. Samuel B. Duncan, Mrs. 
Charles R. Hudgins and Mrs. Harry L. Reese, all of Norfolk.
The body was removed to the funeral home of E. Lee Cox & Brother, 631 Westover 
avenue, where funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at noon.  Burial will 
be in the family plot in Elmwood Cemetery.
