NORFOLK - Luther Bland, 71, of 214 Filbert St. died Friday at 6:50 p.m. at his 
home after a short illness.

He was a son of Louis and Mrs. Elizabeth Bland. A native of Norfolk County, he 
had lived in Norfolk most of his life.

He formerly worked for four years at the Commissioned Officers Golf Club on 
Sewells Point road. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Lena B. Williams, and one brother, Lindsey Bland, 
both of Norfolk.

The body was taken to Hale Funeral Home.
