Norfolk - Charles Bland Jr. of 852 Henry St., the husband of Mrs. Gladys E. 
Bland, died Monday in a hospital.

A native of Norfolk, he was a son of the late Charlie Bland and Mrs. Maggie B. 
Long.  He worked for Luke’s Construction Co.

Surviving, besides his widow, are a son, Walter L. Bland of Philadelphia;  and a 
sister, Mrs. Mary Grimes of Norfolk.

A funeral service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Solid Rock Church of Christ 
Disciples by Elder Alex Varner.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with Hale 
Funeral Home in charge.  The family is at 7117 Gregory Drive.
