Blecharczyk , 89, of the 200 block of A-View Ave., died Aug. 8, 2000, at DePaul Hospital after a brief illness. Mr. Blecharczyk was born in Leavenworth, Kan., and was a retired upholsterer of Cofers Interiors. He had been a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church since 1947 and was a charter member of the Father Kealy Council of the Knights of Columbus. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific Theater. The widower of Dorothy Lea Blecharczyk, he is survived by two daughters, Virginia Blanchard and her husband, Francis, and Carol Ann Blecharczyk , all of Norfolk; and special lifelong friends, William J. Leach and his wife, Norma, and their son, Bruce, of Virginia Beach. He was predeceased by a son, Charles John Blecharczyk. A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church by the Rev. Wayne L. Ball. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Holy Trinity Restoration Fund.
