Norfolk Virginian Pilot Thursday May 19, 1949
Mrs. Sarah Delphine Blitz, 93, widow of John David Blitz, died at the residence, 
4913 Colley Avenue, yesterday at 4:45 a.m.  She is survived by two daughters, 
Mrs. Mattie M. Leake and Mrs. Edgar O. Gimbert, both of Norfolk; two sons, 
Lemuel F. Blitz, of Norfolk and John D. Blitz, of Summit, N.J.; 14 grandchildren 
and 18 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Blitz was a native of Nanticoke, Md. and had been a resident of Norfolk for 
67 years.  She was the oldest member of the LeKies Memorial Methodist Church and 
a member of the Atlantic City Union, W.C.T.U.
The body will be taken from the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to the LeKies 
Memorial Methodist Church for funeral services Friday at 3 p.m.  Burial will be 
in Magnolia Cemetery.
