Bloomer, a former citizen of Norfolk and well known, died Tuesday morning at his home in Bloomington, Ill., in the 82d year of his age. Mr. Bloomer is survived by three daughters, Miss Cherry Bloomer of Bloomington, Ill., Sister Theckla, of Baltimore and Sister Claire of St. Louis, two nieces and a nephew, Mrs. J.O. Hoy, Miss Kate Corbett and John F. Corbett, all of Norfolk. Notice of the funeral will appear later. ************************************************************************** Leonard J. Bloomer The funeral of Leonard J. Bloomer, formerly of Norfolk, who died at Bloomington, Ill., March 1, will take place from St. Mary's Catholic Church Monday morning at 9:30 o'clock. The remains will be taken from the residence of Mrs. John O. Hoy, niece of the deceased, 213 Cooke Avenue, to the church. Virginian Pilot March 6, 1910 **************************************************************************** The remains of Leonard J. Bloomer arrived here from Bloomington, IL, Saturday evening. The funeral was held from St. Mary's Catholic Church at 9:30 o’clock yesterday morning, and was largely attended. Requiem mass was celebrated by Rev. Father E. J. Walsh. During the service, Miss Hughes sang, "Lead Kindly Light.” The floral, tributes were very handsome. The interment was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Following were the pall-bearers: John Hill, Frank Ferguson, J. Barlow, John C. Cashin, G. B. Hart and J. S. Smith.
