Norfolk - Christopher Blount of 215 W. 20th street died recently at his home.  
A native of Edenton, NC, he was the son of the late Atlas and Mrs. Sarah 
Blount.  He was a member of Greater Metropolitan AME Zion Church.

Surviving are four sons, Thomas Blount of Murfreesboro, NC, Sampson Blount, 
and Leamon P. Blount of Virginia Beach, and Ellsworth Blount of Norfolk;  four 
daughters, Mrs. Emma Moore of Detroit, Miss Alice Blount and Miss Viola Blount 
of Norfolk, and Mrs. Gertrude Harris of Atlantic City, NJ;  37 grandchildren, 
47 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral was held in Greater Metropolitan AME Zion Church by the Rev. 
Jackson A. Browne.

Burial was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge.
