A native of Norfolk, he owned and operated Eddie's Market for more than 30 years. He was a member of B'Nai Israel Congregation, the Jewish War Veterans, and Virginia Food Dealers Association. Other survivors include a daughter, Miss Edie Blumenthal of Norfolk; a son, Harold Blumenthal of Guadalajara, Mexico; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Zedd and Mrs. Fannie Terkletaub, and two brothers, Myer Blumenthal and Herman Blumenthal, all of Norfolk. A funeral will be held Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts by Rabbi Israel Bornstein. Burial will be in B'Nai Israel Cemetery.
