He was a former well known resident of this city. Mr. Bobbitt was the son of the late T.F. and Mrs. Annie Whitehead Bobbitt, of Southampton, Va. His parents also lived here for many years. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Carrie Sears Bobbitt and the following children: Robert, Thomas, Gladys, Virginia, Elizabeth and Dorothy Bobbitt; four sisters and one brother, Mrs. Robert Rowland, of Richmond; Mrs. Virginia Harmon, Mrs. Charles Conkling, Mrs. Silas Harrison, all of Norfolk; and W.T. Bobbitt, of Franklin, Va. The body will be brought here on the Atlantic Coast Line train, which is scheduled to arrive this morning at 7:30 o'clock. The time of the funeral had not been determined last night. ******************************************************************** Thomas Howard Bobbitt Funeral services for Mr. Bobbitt were conducted at the funeral apartments of E. Lee Cox, 402 Berkley Avenue, yesterday morning at 11 o'clock by the Rev. T.H. Dimmock, pastor of Armstrong Memorial Presbyterian Church. The attendance was large and there were many beautiful floral tokens. Burial was in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery and the pallbearers were C.F. Kent, S.H. Harper, Silas Harrison, T.H. Russell, C.S. Conkling, Robert Sears, Charles Brown and C.P. Harper. Mr. Bobbitt was fatally injured at a saw mill at St. Stephens, S.C., Tuesday. He was struck by a slab from a cut of timber, the slab having been caught by the carriage in the mill and driven against him.
