Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark September 4, 1913

Thomas Francis Bobbitt, 74 years old, died yesterday morning at 8:30 o'clock 
at the residence of his daughter, Mrs. Lena Harper, 10 Irving street, after 
a lingering illness.
He was a native of Sussex county but had been a resident of Berkley for many 
years and was well known and respected.
He is survived by a widow, Mrs. Margaret A. Bobbitt and seven children:  
W.P. Bobbitt of Franklin, Va.; Mrs. Annie Roland of Richmond; T.H. Bobbitt 
of Disputanta, Va.; Mrs. V. Harmon, Mrs. Mary Saunders Mrs. Lena Harper, 
Miss Pattie Bobbitt; four brothers, Julius, Robert and Edward Bobbitt of 
Sussex, Va. and Wesley Bobbitt of Petersburg, also one sister, Mrs. Alice 
Briggs of Richmond.
The funeral takes place at the above residence this afternoon and will be 
conducted by the Rev. W.T. Green, pastor of Memorial M.E. Church.  Burial 
will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

The funeral of Thomas F. Bobbitt, who died Wednesday morning at the home of 
his daughter, Mrs. Lena Harper, 10 Irving street, was held at the residence 
yesterday afternoon.  Rev. W.T. Green, pastor of Memorial Methodist Church, 
conducted the service, assisted by Rev. C.E. Pleasants, pastor of Liberty 
Street Methodist Church, South Norfolk.
Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery.  The pallbearers were Charles Brown, John 
Whitefield, Benjamin Wood, Albert Heldt, John Moyer, Sam Harper, James F. 
Tatem.
