Robert Boggs and Alexander Mason, both well known in this city, and the latter a resident of Norfolk, were drowned in the Nansemond River on Saturday night last. They left Norfolk Saturday on the sloop R. G. Drummond for the Nansemond River for a load of oysters, they being the only persons on board. The sloop was afterwards found on the Nansemond River bottom upward and her mast gone. Boggs leaves a family; Mason was single.
