Virginian-Pilot January 22, 1969
NORFOLK – Mrs. Catharine Wales Bond, 70, of 1717 Cloncurry Road, died Tuesday in 
her home.
She was the widow of Thomas Allen Bond and a daughter of Charles and Mrs. Marie 
Glover Wales.
A Norfolk native, she was a lifelong resident of this area. She was a member of 
Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Norfolk Garden Club and Colonial Dames of 
America.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles T. Martin Jr.; a son, Thomas Allen Bond 
Jr., both of Norfolk; and four grandchildren. The body will be taken from H. D. 
Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, to Elmwood Cemetery for a funeral service 
today at noon by the Rev. Sydney  C. Swann Jr.  The family requests that flowers 
be omitted and contributions be made to American Cancer Society.
