Norfolk Virginian Pilot February 10, 1941

Mrs. Carolista Wood Bond, aged 69, widow of Thomas Leroy Bond, and daughter of 
the late Zachariah G. and Mrs. Sarah Jane Cabell Wood, died at the residence, 
401 Twenty-second Street, Virginia Beach, last night at 8:25 o'clock. Mrs. Bond 
was a native of Lynchburg and had been a resident of this section for the past 
52 years.
Surviving her are three sons, Holton C. Bond, of Norfolk; John P. Bond, of 
Mobile, Ala. and Richard R.C. Bond, of Virginia Beach; four daughters, Mrs. J.W. 
Crane, of New Orleans; Mrs. William M. Ray and Miss Jane W. Bond, both of 
Virginia Beach and Mrs. Paul R. Horne, of Newport News; five grandchildren and a 
number of nieces and nephews. The body was taken to the H.D. Oliver Funeral 
Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue pending arrangements.

Mrs. Carolista Wood Bond - Funeral services for Mrs. Bond, widow of Thomas Leroy 
Bond, who died Sunday night at the residence, 401 Twenty-second Street, Virginia 
Beach, will be held at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 
Colonial Avenue, Norfolk, this afternoon at 2 o'clock, with the Rev. Moultrie 
Guerry, rector of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, officiating. Burial will be in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
