Bonfanti, a well-known citizen of Norfolk and acquainted with the leading sporting men from Maine to Texas, died at his residence, on Queen Street, last evening, aged 61 years. Mr. Bonfanti had suffered for some months with Bright's disease, which was the cause of his death. He leaves an estate, worth about $50,000, to a nephew and his sister, Mrs. Wm. McLean. He was a charitable man and had the respect of all with whom he came in contact. He was born in Norfolk, where he has lived a large part of his life. ******************************************************************** The funeral of Mr. J.J. Bonfanti took place yesterday afternoon at the home of his sister, No. 311 Queen Street and was conducted by Rev. Dr. Barten, of Christ P.E. Church. The interment was in Elmwood.
