Funeral services will be held at Bank Street Baptist Church Dec. 20 at 1:30 p.m.
for Charles Samuel Bonney, of 237 W. 148th street, New York City, who died at
1:30 a.m. Dec. 15 in a New York hospital. The Rev. J. B. Henderson, D.D.,
pastor, will officiate.

Mr. Bonney, son of the late Charles Robert and Mrs. Nancy Lewis Bonney, was born
and reared in Norfolk, and moved to New York City nearly 50 years ago.

He was Sexton of St. Peter’s Protestant Episcopal Church, West 20th street, New
York City, and a retired employee of Jersey Central Railway Company. He was
formerly president of the Sons of Norfolk in New York and was a member of Bethel
AME Church. The body is expected to arrive in Norfolk Saturday morning.

Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Esther Washington Bonney; one sister, Mrs. Jennie
Bonney Dudley; and two nieces, Mrs. Mildred D. Peters and Miss Jennie Dudley.

Riddick’s Funeral Service will be in charge. Interment will be in the family
plot at Calvary Cemetery.
