She was a lifelong resident of Norfolk. She was formerly a receptionist at the Algonquin House and retired from Hampton Roads Sanitation Department. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir for 12 years. A well-known singer in the Norfolk area, she sang at other churches as well Survivors include a brother, George C. Jarvis of Norfolk; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held Friday at 1 p.m. by Dr. Andrew R. Bird Jr. in Hollomon- Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
